You have a very interesting way of thinking of things. I can imagine anyone relating slavery and gasoline powered fuel cells. I'm actually working on a gasoline powered fuel cell now. The problem with gasoline is that it contains certian lubricants which cannot be used in fuel cells. These chemicals must be removed from the gasoline before it can be used. These processors are huge, heavy and costly. Three things automakers hate. You could offer this pre-processed gasoline at the pump, but that would also involve some integration effort. The biggest factor right now is cost, the fact is that these things are REALLY expensive. Who in their right mind would pay $50,000 for a car which gets 75 miles to the gallon, when you can get one which will get 45 for $15,000? When the cost of the fuel cell drops, that's when you will see them in production. You can learn more about fuel cells and how they work here: This is my job :)
